Why ‘Blue Collar Web’? What’s in a name.

The name is a tongue in cheek response to many of the clickbait articles I have seen over the years pondering the question “Is Web Development is the next Blue-Collar job”. These articles have cropped up over the years from the likes of Wired, LinkedIn, and Medium asking the question and I do not expect this trend to end. Do I think of Web Development as a Blue-Collar job? Most definitely not!

It also requires an understanding of design principles and user experience in order to build effective and intuitive websites and applications.
